In this way, the Government goes back on its initial decision of direct award.
“It is in our interest as a Government to obtain the greatest benefits for our country. (…) However, given the request for transparency, given the claims from the sectors that we have seen all these days in the media, we as a Government are open to investment, We believe in private capital investment, and we do not want to show that we do not want it, that is why it has been defined that the process be carried out as requested. and that’s what we’re going to do,” he explained. Vera Gargurevich at a conference.
In addition, the official specified that Perupetro has authorization to carry out, according to its regulations, a direct negotiation or a call and when negotiations began with Petroperú it was because “at that time it was the best option.”
“We know that the corresponding evaluations were carried out, technical, economic and financial, legal evaluation, and all of this has been completed with all the steps in this process,” he said.
