Two Ecuadorian entrepreneurs received scholarships to participate in a study program in Australia thanks to scholarships provided by Fundación Favorita and support from Corporación Favorita. The meeting, called Innovup, is an immersion program led by the Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (AEI) that brings together entrepreneurs and global leaders, for an agenda that includes talks, networking and investment opportunities for ventures.
AEI graduated 9,000 beneficiaries of the Re-Emprende program who completed the first phase of the plan
This is Stephanie Taborga, CEO of Veggie Lover, a vegan brand with a sustainable value chain; and Karla Guamán, CEO of Asha, a line of premixes based on Andean grains.
Both are part of the Alliance for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (AEI) in Ecuador, which consists of a network of public, private and academic actors that seek to promote entrepreneurship and innovation as the basis of the country’s productive development. AEI Ecuador started in 2013 and has since supported more than 15,000 entrepreneurs, generating more than 3,325 jobs and $96 million in sales.

How did entrepreneurs become scholarship holders?
Innovup Israel was held in 2022, an event attended by Ecuadorian entrepreneurs from the technology sector. fintech, agribusiness, education, among others. This year, the immersion program will take place in Australia, one of the most advanced ecosystems in Asia Pacific, with more than 4,000 actors focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. The Global Entrepreneurship Congress will be held here, with the participation of hundreds of entrepreneurs, businessmen and investors.
In early 2023, Ecuadorian women entrepreneurs participated in the process that AEI Ecuador opened among its entrepreneurs to select those who will participate in Innovup Australia.
AEI launches study program in Israel for entrepreneurs
The delegation of Innovup 2023 Australia will consist of the winning entrepreneurs, Camilo Pinzón, Chairman of the Board of Directors of AEI and representative of the Academy, who traveled on Sunday, September 17 and completed a four-day program of participation in the Congress Global Entrepreneurship, which includes networking activities with entrepreneurs, investors, policy makers and community leaders to create prosperous conditions for an entrepreneurial and innovation ecosystem.
Andrés Zurita, CEO of AEI, emphasized the importance of this program. “Innovup is an opportunity like no other for Ecuadorian entrepreneurs. It is a door that opens to discover the potential offered by the global ecosystem. This experience is beneficial for the country, as participants return with new connections, opportunities for growth and expansion, which translates into more jobs and, consequently, the creation of local employment,” said Zurita.
