Peru Service Summit 2023: close to US$90 million will be negotiated with service exporters

He Peru Service Summit 2023 will convene more than 70 international contractors interested in the services and business solutions that will be offered in the 12th edition of this event, which will take place from October 18 to 21, according to the Commission for the Promotion of Peru for Exports and Tourism (Promperu).

Among the contractors are companies from the United States, Canada, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Ecuador, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Bolivia. In this list, they stand out Warner Bros Discovery, which shows interest in the field of animation; Metrobank Panama, oriented towards software; the International Animation Center; Taller del Chucho, Guillermo del Toro’s animation studio; and Pan American Silver, looking for technological services for mining.

Playmakers Entertainment Kapow from Argentina (audiovisual content), Hampa Studio from Spain (animation), Chatrone from Brazil (audiovisual), Titmouse from the United States (animation), among many other contractors, will also participate.

The 86 Peruvian exporters that will participate in the round are from Arequipa, Cajamarca, Cusco, La Libertad, Lima, Lambayeque, Tacna and Loreto. As a result of these meetings, deals worth US$90 million are projected to be completed over the course of the next 12 months.

According to Ricardo Limo, Director of Export Promotion at Promperú, since its first edition in 2011, the Peru Service Summit has generated more than US$873 million in business opportunities.

In addition, It has allowed the participation of more than 880 contractors from 28 countries and 788 Peruvian companies, which have established businesses as a result of this event in areas such as banking, retail, mass consumption, health, mining, insurance, among others.

“Over the last few years, important milestones have been achieved, such as 2017, where the services export coalition was created, where private unions participate to develop joint actions to benefit generating not only the growth of the sector, but each more and more companies participate in international markets,” he commented during the inauguration.

In this context, the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade, Teresa Mera Gómez, highlighted that thanks to this event, local service providers enjoy greater recognition in the international market. “In most cases these services contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of other sectors, which is why they promote the creative industry that offers computer solutions, animation, digital marketing, design and software, as well as engineering solutions,” she noted.
