Medium-sized companies would lead hiring at the end of the year: what factors influence this trend?

In the next three months, recruitment prospects show an increase, with a net employment expectation of 36%. This represents an increase of 4% compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the results of the latest Employment Expectations Survey carried out by ManpowerGroup.

The study, which included the participation of 510 employers nationwide, indicates that Medium-sized companies (between 50 and 249 employees) are the most optimistic business units in expanding their workforce, with 45% expectations, contrary to the trends observed in previous years, when large companies led.

Daniel Galdos, Commercial Manager of Manpower, explained that one of the factors that have led to this change in trend is the greater flexibility of medium-sized companies to adapt their structures and make changes to their operations compared to larger companies, which often require more time to implement modifications.

Besides, highlighted that medium-sized companies tend to have a stronger financial position than small ones, which allows them to make necessary investments for growth and hiring personnel. In contrast, small businesses may feel the financial impact of hiring more, which could make them more cautious about it.

Hiring expectations reached 38% in small companies, 32% in micro companies and 30% in large companies. “We continue to see that“The survey shows that large companies continue to be the most conservative, and where we probably have to wait a little longer, a little more stability, for this trust to be regained,” commented Galdos.

How to improve employment expectations?

According to Galdos, regarding the factors that could influence the improvement of these expectations at a general level, economic stability It’s fundamental. However, he highlighted that, compared to the previous year, Peruvian businessmen enjoy a scenario of greater predictability, which allows them to plan their investments, including those related to the hiring of personnel.

“What we need is to give the message to the businessman that the rules are going to be maintained and that any change that could be generated is not going to be very abrupt, that will allow their planning scenarios to be maintained and that in one way or another there will also be legal stability,” he highlighted.
