With a commercial exhibition that will occupy an area of ​​4,100 m² and in which more than 100 companies, domestic and international, will present their finished products, with 57% of these companies of foreign origin, the tenth edition of Iplas 2023 will begin this Tuesday, September 12. ., an international trade fair for the plastics industry, organized by the Ecuadorian Plastics Association (Aseplas).

Plastic manufacturers suggest better recycling

The exhibition will showcase raw materials, machinery and services related to plastics production and the commercial chain, providing a business opportunity for the sector. The event will run from September 12 to 15 at the Simón Bolívar Convention Center in Guayaquil and will include the 1st Technical Congress on the Circular Economy and Recycling, business meetings and commercial technical talks, on topics related to the plastics industry, recycling, its value chain, technology and investments.

The technical congress will be held on Wednesday, September 13 and Thursday, September 14, starting at 09:00. Fifteen experts from Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Colombia, Brazil, Peru and Ecuador will take part in it.

Iplas 2023 is the only exhibition dedicated to the plastics sector in Ecuador and has become the main showcase of an industry that creates approximately 19,000 direct jobs and 120,000 indirect jobs in its extensive marketing chain. This industry has a production value of about 2.1 billion dollars, which represents approximately 2% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP).

In addition, Aseplas, which celebrates its 45th anniversary this year in 2023, represents more than 90% of the plastics and recycling industry in Ecuador. The organization leads numerous initiatives related to the circular economy and promotes sustainable responsibility in the production chain, demonstrating its firm commitment to the positive development of the country.
