Peru, through the Private Investment Promotion Agency (Proinversión), continues with its promotion policy abroad to promote the projects of the Huancayo-Huancavelica Railway (FHH) and the Sierra Longitudinal Highway-section 4 (CLS4 ), whose awards are scheduled for December of this year.
These are two emblematic projects in the Proinversión portfolio that, as a whole, require an estimated investment of US$1.3 billion (without VAT).
The delegation assigned by Proinversión begins this Monday, September 11, a series of bilateral meetings led by the directors of the aforementioned projects, Gian Carlos Silva (FHH) and Norman Zegarra (LS4). The meetings will take place until Tuesday, September 12, at the Intercontinental hotel in Madrid.
The most representative Spanish companies in the country with experience in the development of road infrastructure such as SACYR, COPASA, RENFE, OHLA, among others, will attend the event; as well as executives from Banco Santander and consulting firms such as KPMG. The meetings will include information on the scope and schedule of each project, prequalification requirements, and technical and financial aspects.
The objective of these visits abroad is to attract global companies interested in investing in the portfolio of projects offered by Proinversión, which for the period 2023 has the goal of awarding 18 Public-Private Partnership (PPP) and Asset Projects projects. for an approximate amount of US$3,000 million, of which, to date, 12 projects have been awarded for more than US$1,200 million.
In the remainder of 2023, the Proinversión team will be developing both local and international events in Europe and Asia; with agendas of bilateral meetings in Peru and abroad for the promotion of specific projects, such as the recent participation in Panama with the portfolio of port projects at the 8th Latin America Ports Forum, on September 6 and 7.
Two projects with tourism potential
The modernization of Huancayo-Huancavelica Railway (Male Train)which will require an estimated investment of US$340 million (without VAT), will be a significant boost for the socioeconomic development of the Junín and Huancavelica regions. This project will further develop the tourist and agricultural potential of the area, while facilitating the population’s access to health, education, employment and commerce services.
For its part, the Longitudinal Highway of the Sierra Section 4 It is a mega road project that will benefit more than 1.6 million Peruvians in the departments of Junín, Huancavelica, Ica, Ayacucho and Apurímac, which promotes the commercial, industrial, agricultural and tourist movement.
The project, which estimates an approximate investment of US$970 million (without VAT), It consists of the concession delivery of 955 kilometers that connect the regions of Junín, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Apurímac and Ica. It is a co-financed state initiative promoted by Proinversión on behalf of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC); with a concession period of 25 years.
