The Federation of Civil Construction Workers of Peru (FTCCP) and the Peruvian Chamber of Construction (Capeco) have reached an agreement to increase the basic wage by S/4.20 for operators, S/3.30 for official and S/3 for laborer.
The 2023-2024 collective bargaining act will be signed on September 7 at noon at the headquarters of the business union. “We have agreed to a 5.25% increase in the basic wage for the three categories. Likewise, we have improved the bonus for high specialization for welders and electromechanics, which will increase from 15% to 17% for the first and from 18% to 20% for the second,” said Luis Villanueva, general secretary of the FTCCP, in an interview with the Republic.
They also announced the creation of an agreement to establish a training fund for workers in the sector, which will be financed by employers.
By how much will the workers’ wages increase?
With the new increase of 5.25% in the three categories, the basic wage will be S/80.70 for operators, S/66.45 for officers and S/59.80 for laborers for eight hours of work. These salaries at the national level are valid from June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024.
It is important to point out that last year, the increase was higher and reached S/6.20, since annual inflation, which reached 8.99%, was taken into account. In contrast, for the current period, an annual rate of 7.99% was considered.
