ACB Sestao will stop its production today and will resume it in January

According to the company, the cut is due to the need to carry out some work and the high price of electricity. During this time, it will carry out maintenance and remodeling work on the second continuous casting line.

The Compact Steelworks of Bizkaia (ACB) of Sestao, of the group ArcelorMittal, will stop its production this Wednesday Wednesday, December 8, and will resume in January, as EITB Media has learned.

Both the company and the workers’ committee had already announced at the beginning of November that such a closure would take place, without a specific date having been set.

During this time, maintenance and remodeling work will be carried out on the second continuous casting line, taking advantage of the high cost of electricity, and is that the company defends that the stop is due to the need to carry out some work and to the the rise in energy costs.

However, representatives of UGT, CC. OO., LAB and ELA, members of the committee, claimed that the stoppage was due to the union’s rejection of “organizational changes” proposed by the company.
