Executive supported the public budget for 2024 before the Plenary of Congress

This Wednesday, September 6, the President of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola, and the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras Miranda, appeared before the plenary session of the Congress to support the public budget bills for 2024, which amounts to S/241,000 million, 12% more than this year, and represents the highest growth in the last decade.

This amount is focused on closing social gaps, according to the prime minister; For this reason, the fund allocated to the national government reaches almost S/154,000 million, which means a growth of 9% compared to last year.

“It is the first budget designed and proposed by the Government of President Boluarte in which we want to express three central ideas: Peru’s commitment to economic stability and the promotion of investments; the commitment to closing gaps in health, education and infrastructure, the priority is in vulnerable populations; and, thirdly, the main line of the proposal is related to the reactivation and unlocking of large, medium and small public works projects with job creation,” Otárola emphasized.

For his part, the owner of the MEF He exposed the global economic panorama and where Peru is located in this scenario. Although he ratified a growth of 1.1% for this year, he pointed out that the improvement process will begin from November, which will be gradual, but will lead the country to grow by 3% in 2024.
