Who is Jennifer Contreras, the new Minister of Agrarian Development?

Jennifer Contreras Alvarez She is a lawyer by profession from the San Martín de Porres University and has more than 15 years of experience in management positions in the State that are related to productive sectors. Likewise, she has a master’s degree in Public Management and Public Management, and is a specialist in Modernization of State Public Management, Strategic Planning, Budget and Public Investment, and Human Resources.

Before assuming as Minister of Agrarian Development, Contreras served as general director of the General Office of Planning and Budget of said portfolio since December 21 of last year and was a member of the Board of Directors of the National Institute of Quality (Inacal).

Similarly, she has held positions as management secretary of the Presidency of the Council of Minister; general director of the Planning and Budget Office of the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations; and she also worked in the Ministry of Production as head of the General Directorate of Policy and Regulation and Coordinator of the programs ‘A comer pescado’ and ‘Productive Diversification’.
