Daniel Maurate Romero assumed as Minister of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE) replacing Fernando Varela Bohórquez, who remained in this position since April 23, 2023. The lawyer became the fourth person to assume this portfolio during the government of Dina Boluarte However, it is not the first time that it has fulfilled this function because it was part of said entity in 2015 during the presidency of Ollanta Humala.

Daniel Ysau Maurate Romero was born on March 26, 1965 in Acolla, Junín. He studied Law at the Inca Garcilaso de la Vega University and obtained his master’s degree in Administration and Public Management. He was the Minister of Justice and Human Rights before re-assuming the Labor and Employment Promotion portfolio.
