Dollar closed higher and is trading at S/3,707 this Wednesday, September 6

During the day of this Wednesday, September 6, 2023, the dollar closed higher and was located at S/3.7070, which represents an increase of 0.30% compared to the close of Tuesday when it stood at S/3.696, according to reported by the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

Fabiola Gutierrez, Currency Trader at Renta4 SAB, explained that this rise in the exchange rate is due to local demand. During the day, the dollar touched a minimum of S/3.6950 and reached the maximum level of S/3.7090.

“US$251 million dollars were negotiated in the market at an average price of S/3.7054. The BCRP intervened by placing an exchange swap for sale for S/400 million at an average rate of 5.39%. Likewise, there were maturities Exchange Swap Sale for S/564 million,” explained the expert.

At the international level, this Wednesday the indicator that measures the business activity of services in USAresulting in 50.5 for the month of August, a figure that was lower than the expected figure of 51 and the 52.3 registered in July, approaching the limit of contractive terrain (indicator below 50), thus increasing the possibility of a stagflation scenario.
