The Kia brand has launched the installation of more than 66 electric vehicle charging stations across the country, promoting sustainable mobility and universal access to electric vehicles in the country. The last inauguration was carried out in alliance with the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, and this 2023 it hopes to close it with 150 points across the country.

These charging stations are located in different provinces: Pichincha, Guayas, Galapagos, Azuay, Tungurahua, Manabí, Loja, Imbabura, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo, thanks to the joint work of public and private companies and the academic community.

Electrified vehicles have grown by 44% in sales and already have a 9% market share

With this cooperation, the availability of available charging stations for every electric vehicle has been achieved. Points can be found in shopping malls, public car parks, airports, universities, metropolitan parks and private clubs across the country.

In addition, the brand has established alliances to implement four fast charging stations: two in Guayaquil, one in Quito and another in the Galapagos, where it operates thanks to clean energy produced by solar panels.

Kia plans to implement two additional filling stations this year.

These are the best-selling vehicles in Ecuador in the first half of 2023, nearly surpassing the records of 2011 and 2018.

The brand plans to launch new vehicles, offering four 100% electric models by the end of 2023. In this way, it responds to the demands of a constantly evolving market, where environmental protection and the search for mobility options that do not pollute the environment are gaining importance.
