Chancay Megaport: when would it be inaugurated?

According to Gonzalo Ríos, deputy general manager of Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Peru, the inauguration of the Chancay Megaport would take place between October and December of next year, the date on which the Presidential Summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum will take place. “We have the greatest expectation, our construction program is anticipating that the port of Chancay can come into operation at the end of next year and an unbeatable opportunity is the meeting of APEC leaders. In the same way, he said that this work will start with 4 piers in a first stage and will grow progressively until it has 15, in accordance with the movement of the market.

“We have a master plan, because of the 4 docks with which the first stage will begin, it will go to 15 docks, according to the movement of the market. We estimate that this growth will be implemented progressively, until reaching a total investment amount that would exceed US$3.5 billion,” he added.

The Chancay Multipurpose Port Terminal is a project located in the province of Huaral, Lima region, which is built by the Chinese company Cosco Shipping Ports Chancay Peru (CSPCP) in coordination with the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
