There is no official date for the start of the pension increase because the Executive will only send the bill to Congress in mid-September. However, from the Economy portfolio they expect that in 2024 they will begin to deliver the increase in pensions to all retirees.
“The increase in pensions requires a law, I am sure that we will achieve the possibility of consensus in Congress. We will send the bill at the latest at the end of September so that it can be increased in 2024,” Contreras said.
How much is the ONP pension increase?
Alex Contreras, Minister of Economy, revealed that the increase in the pension for workers covered under Legislative Decree 19990 will be from S/500 to S/600. In total, S/100 will be the increase.
“In the pension reform project that we are going to send to Congress, we will include this proposal to raise the minimum pension from S/500 to S/600 and it can be executed at the beginning of 2024,” added the head of Economy.
