Municipal savings banks will launch their own digital wallet: what will be the application that will compete with Yape and Plin?

The municipal savings and credit banks (CMAC) plan to launch a new electronic wallet on the market, which will compete directly with Yape and Plinwhich are the best-known payment applications on the market.

The president of the Peruvian Federation of Municipal Savings and Credit Banks (FEPCMAC), Jorge Solis Espinoza, revealed that it is a cooperative electronic wallet. This will be characterized by its competitiveness, taking advantage of its solid base of 10 million customers. “We, in the Peruvian federation of savings banks, are promoting a cooperative electronic wallet that will be very competitive because we have a base of 10 million customers,” he said at a press conference.

According to Solís, this broad user base will allow the federation to compete on equal terms with leading electronic wallets such as Yape and Plin.

When will the cooperative electronic wallet be launched?

The incorporation of this new alternative seeks to provide customers with more immediate and advantageous access in terms of costs. The FEPCMAC hopes that competition in the electronic wallet sector will bring more favorable conditions for users, promoting greater transparency and financial options.

According to Solís, the launch of the digital payment application is scheduled for February next year. It has not been given a name yet.
