With an investment of $470,000, DHL Express has opened its new operations center in Ambat, with which it strengthens its network in the country and hopes to boost the city’s economy.
The company records 3.4 million dollars invested in the last five years in the country.
The new center in Ambat has started with employment opportunities and the number of jobs is expected to increase as the operation develops, as it aims to become a strategic ally for SMEs to improve the internationalization of their products and promote e-commerce in the land.

The company points out that Ambato is among the five cities with a solid economic growth of more than 3% in relation to the gross domestic product (GDP). In this sense, the inauguration of this new operations center – located on Unidad Nacional Avenue and Darquea Street – “promotes the expansion of the city’s industrial and export growth, connecting them with more than 220 countries and territories globally.”
The general manager of DHL Express in Ecuador, Edith Villavicencio, assured that this operation in the city will directly and indirectly support new entrepreneurs, micro-entrepreneurs and SMEs looking for a logistics ally for their imports and exports with extensive knowledge of the sector.
And he assured that the integrity enables maintaining a higher frequency of flights, directly affecting the periodicity of logistic transport and available spaces, which in this case are loads of 50 kilograms. “We maintain ongoing technical assessments of the sector that allow us to identify these projections.”
