About the return of Petroperu to the Talara lots, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Alex Contreras, acknowledged that the state company is in a position to operate in these deposits in the northwest.
“The decision to exploit some lots has to be consistent (sic) Petroperú can participate in some lots that do not require too much investment and in others, definitely not.“, he told the press during the presentation of the Multiannual Macroeconomic Framework (MMM).
On the other hand, he assured that the New Talara Refinery in September “should be green”, which reduces any chance of injecting more resources into Petroperú.
And, regarding the restructuring of Petroperú, Contreras indicated that they will coordinate with the board of directors to comply with the plans without affecting the accounts of the state firm.
