MTC has 1,096 projects and works for S / 270,912 million nationwide

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) reported that Peru has a portfolio of 1,096 investments for 2021, which represents a cost of S / 270,912 million. Said execution of projects and works at the ground level, aerial and maritime would benefit thousands of citizens.

This was announced by Julio Lazo, advisor to the MTC ministerial office, during the Investment Opportunities in Peru event, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During his presentation, the official specified that there are 910 investments in urban roads, 10 in urban transport, 7 in railways, 82 in aerodromes, 37 in communication networks and broadband, 10 in sports venues, 37 in port terminals and 2 in control points.

Among the main interurban walkability projects are the following: access to Chinchero International Airport (Cusco) and the avoidance road of the city of Juliaca (Puno).

Likewise, the Villa Rica – Puerto Bermúdez, Oyón – Ambo (section 3), Rancho-Chaglla-Rumichaca Bridge, and the Ashaninka Nation Bridge are part of the MTC investment portfolio.

Lazo also stated that the air transport service is a priority for the sector. In this sense, he reported that improvement work is being carried out at the Breu aerodromes in Ucayali, Juanjui in San Martin, Jauja in Junín, Caballococha in Iquitos, among others.

At the aquatic level, work is being done to improve the coastal edge of the Las Delicias, Buenos Aires and Huanchaco resorts, in Freedom. As well as the rehabilitation of the port terminal of Pucallpa.

In the mentioned budget More than 9 million euros has also been earmarked for the urban passenger transport service in Lima and Callao, such as the execution of Line 3 and 4.

In telecommunications, the MTC will grant concession the AWS-3 and 2.3 GHz radio spectrum bands, which will allow the development of mobile systems to be expanded nationwide for 4G generation technologies. At the railway level, several projects are also being promoted.
