He Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) formalized the increase to S/360 of the base pension for retirees in the fishing sector, as President Dina Boluarte had indicated the day before.
Through supreme decree No. 187-2023-EF, published today in the official newspaper El Peruano, the Executive Power establishes the minimum amounts of pension benefits of the Special Pension Regime for Fishing Workers and the Direct Transfer to the Fisherman.
The amount of S / 360 reaches retirees affected by the retirement and disability pension, as the minister of the branch, Alex Contreras, had advanced.
Regarding the amounts of the pensions of widowhood and orphanhoodgenerated on the minimum pension of the deceased, the document explains that the rules established in the Law Regulating the Special Social Security Regime for Fishing Workers and Pensioners are applied.
It should be noted that the beginning of the payment of the minimum amounts established in this decree will be made from the payment corresponding to next September.
The minimum pension and the minimum amount of the Direct Transfer to the Former Fisherman is financed with resources from the Extraordinary Fisherman’s Fund.
This fund is managed by the Consolidated Reserve Fund, which is why the necessary resources for its financing are transferred to the Pension Standardization Office (ONP).
