Government will spend S/6,700 million in Con Punche Peru for the remainder of the year

The measure will be carried out in order to prevent damage from the El Niño Phenomenon, clarified the head of the MEF, Alex Contreras.

Alex Contreras, holder of the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF)pointed out that so far this year more than S/3.8 billion have been spent to meet the needs of the country after the ravages of the climate emergency through Con Punche Peru.

In this regard, it estimates that in the remainder of the current “more or less S/6.7 billion” will be executed to strengthen the economy against the El Niño Phenomenon (FEN).

“We are preparing ourselves with historical budgets and the Government’s goal is 100% execution, not only in public investment, but in prevention expenses,” he clarified in the Congress’s Working Group on Competitiveness, Productivity, and Formalization of the Economy.

In that sense, Contreras Miranda explained that “there will be a recovery from July to December” after the “stabilization from January to June.”

“The numbers for July show a significant recovery in terms of investment announcements, expectations, and the indicators are beginning to show it,” he said.
