The union and business representatives that make up the recently reinstated National Labor Council (CNT) will hold a meeting on Friday, August 25 at 9:00 am to discuss the agenda with the issues that will be addressed in the sessions of this body, reported the head of the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (MTPE), fernando varela.

In this agenda, issues such as the reactivation of ordinary commissions must be addressed so that important issues such as outsourcing, collective relations and, why not, are discussed in these commissions. minimum living wagehe commented.

However, he emphasized that the purpose of this working group will be to develop the technical criteria necessary to increase the minimum wage.

“An objective of our management is to avoid that during the next few years we do not talk about when the minimum vital remuneration is going to be increased, but that the debate is how we technify the increase so that the actors know that every year or every two years or what variables economics favor an increase. What I want to say is that the increase is technical,” he said.

Initiative to promote formalization

Regarding the fight against labor informality, Minister Varela pointed out that his portfolio is working on a program with a multisectoral approach that will be presented next Monday at the Council of Ministers. “Once we have the structure ready, we will incorporate the other sectors and then also transfer that debate to the National Council and make a policy that can later be assumed by the National Agreement,” he said.

Likewise, the official recognized the importance of creating attractive conditions for formalization, so that both employers and workers can benefit from a fair and equitable work environment. “Our ministry has to work to lower the fences so that it is attractive to be formal and that all employers comply with giving them the rights that correspond to workers,” he concluded.
