Terpel Ecuador is now selling LPG to taxi drivers in Manta

Terpel Ecuador has started the commercialization of LPG in Manta and this sale will be allowed only to the taxi drivers union.

The retail price is 33.4 cents per kg, and it will be available at the service station located at Avenue 114 and Street 319 in the city of Manabí. This new point of sale is added to the others of the company: July 25 in Guayaquil and another one at km 3 of the Durán-Tambo highway (parish of Eloy Alfaro).

Terpel’s projection is the continuation of the expansion of the offer to other cities where there is a high demand for the product, such as Portoviejo, Santo Domingo and other cities in the country, according to the statement.

Terpel’s fuel manager, Xavier Granda, explained that as a result of the increase in the price of gasoline, “the demand for LPG has increased significantly, especially in the last year. This led us to analyze our participation in the segment, since we know that there is not enough supply to supply users in a timely and agile manner”.

He added that “taxi drivers, since they have a significant subsidy from the state, in order to obtain it, must comply with the process of adjusting their vehicles in an authorized workshop. This means that through the converter, gasoline-powered cars would also drive LPG”.

Among the main advantages of using this product is the approximately 60% reduction in price per kilometer, much more efficient combustion and the consequent reduction of harmful emissions and carbon monoxide into the environment.

Terpel is a company of Colombian origin dedicated to the distribution of fuel and lubricants. It started its operations in Ecuador in 2006, and is present in Ecuador, Panama, the Dominican Republic and Peru.
