The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) has launched a new collection of collectible coins, one of which exceeds the sale value of S/11,000 and has a denomination of ‘100 thousand gold soles’. Why do these BCRP coins cost up to S/11,046?

BCRP coins have a high cost due to the material with which they were minted. According to the official page, the money is made of an alloy with 0.925% gold, that is, it contains precious metal. In addition, its availability can only be found at the central office of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru.

On the face of the coin you can see a Peruvian hero of the Pacific War minted and on the reverse is the national coat of arms. The value of the coin is determined by its diameter, if it is 55 mm, its value will be S/11,046 and if it is 28 mm, it will cost S/5,556
