Informed heirs: what does it consist of?
The Superintendence of Banking, Insurance and AFP (SBS) made available to the public, between 2010 and 2014, a list of services to inform the direct relatives of a deceased person about their deposits, insurance, credit situation and affiliation to the System Private Pensions (SPP).
Through this free tool, the beneficiaries or successors will be able to have certified and accurate information on the procedures and operations carried out by the deceased.
Informed heirs: what documents must be presented?
According to the Association of Banks of Peru (Asbanc), the relatives or heirs of a deceased person must present, at the SBS offices or virtually, the following documents:
- Application form
- Simple copy of the National Identity Document (DNI)
- Death certificate
- Certified copy of the declaration of heirs or will registered in Public Records.
Informed heirs: what certificates and records can be requested?
Through the SBS, you can have access to the following certificates and records:
- Certificate of policies: With this document you can find out if your deceased relative had any life or personal accident insurance. In this regard, the maximum delivery period is 11 days, according to the SBS.
- Deposit certificate: If you are the heir of a deceased person and you want to know if they had deposits and other values in the companies of the financial system, request this proof of deposit whose maximum delivery period is 12 days.
- Debt report: It allows you to know the list of credits contracted in the financial system and the rating assigned by said entities according to your payment behavior. The maximum delivery time is 5 days.
- Forecast report: This document allows you to find out if your deceased relative was affiliated with the Private Pension System and in which AFP he was. The maximum delivery time is 5 days.
Informed heirs: what are the steps to access this service?
According to information from Asbanc, the heirs of a deceased relative will be able to access all the financial information of their loved ones in the following way:
- Enter the online service portal that the SBS has HERE.
- Click on ‘Informed heirs’ on THIS LINK.
- If you are a new user, register or log in with your already created account.
- Request the information you need and remember that the documents to be submitted must be in PDF format.

The Superintendence of Banking and Insurance has a consultation line 0800-10840, which is free and available to resolve public concerns. It also has these on-site service offices:
