During the business day, which took place with enormous expectations from producers and potential buyers, the offer of different types of cheeses was highlighted, such as Andean cheese, mozarella, edam, fresh, Swiss cheese, butter, fruity yogurts, manjar, honey, cheese boards, among others.
The business conference allowed both bidders and buyers to initiate the first contacts to finalize future sales, taking into account the diversity of cheeses.
The Peruvian Cheese Show is an event organized by the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) and the Ecumenical Center for Promotion and Social Action (CEDEPAS Norte), and which culminates this Sunday, August 13, at the Lima Convention Center , in the district of San Borja, in which the different fusions of colors and essences that represent the dairy regions will be offered to attendees.
44% of fresh milk production is used to make artisanal dairy products
The event has more than 90 cheese exhibition-sale stands, complemented by the supply of supplies and equipment for the sector, academic and cultural activities, a business conference, a gastronomic cheese exhibition, a tasting room and pairing with wines and spirits, cheese factories, among other activities, which took place since last Friday, the opening date of the contest.
Midagri also reported that, at the national level, there are 388,450 milk producers from small family farming, who supply this input to the artisanal cheese industry, and the participants of this first room have come from the regions of Puno, Cajamarca, Cusco, Ayacucho, Junín, Ancash, La Libertad, Lima, Huánuco, Arequipa, Pasco.
It should be noted that 44% of the national production of fresh milk is destined to the elaboration of artisanal dairy products, which promotes the milk value chain, providing added value and better prices to small family farming producers, which This will result in higher income for their families.
