He Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) reported that it has established measures to guarantee the supply of LPG nationwide, and coordinates with authorized agents, with a view to regularizing the dispatches of this fuel from the Callao and Pisco terminals.
In that sense, the use of the minimum stocks of this fuel has been authorized for agents obliged to comply with LPG stocksand the coordination with the agents contemplate making possible the necessary logistical operations that facilitate the supply of the market.
Additionally, agents have been importing LPGin order to cover the reduction in national production and thus meet the market demand for said hydrocarbon.
To date, the import ship Clipper Mars has already finished unloading at Terminal Pisco and, since August 11, is unloading 10,000 MT of said product at the Solgas Terminal.
The Minem adds that the restoration of LPG dispatches in the Callao and Pisco Plants will be gradually regularized in the coming days, with which the demand in the country is assured.
It should be noted that the LPG supply has been affected by various factors, including preventive maintenance at the Pisco Natural Gas Liquid Fractionation Plant. and delay of fuel import vessels, through the Panama Canal.
Improvements in the commercialization of LPG
Within the framework of Supreme Decree No. 01-2022-EM, which modified article 8 of the Regulations for the Marketing of LPGcompanies in the sector have been developing projects and actions that will contribute to having a continuous supply of this fuel.
In this regard, Pluspetrol is working on a project with the objective of increasing the number of tankers serviced per day, expanding the dispatch islands of LPG at the Pisco plant; as well as in the creation of additional parking lots, which will provide an efficient alternative that is less dependent on supplies by sea.
Along the same lines, PetroperĂș SA will start LPG production with the startup of the Conversion Unit (FCC) of the New Talara Refinery by the end of this month.
