New Juntos Urbano program: what is it about?
With the purpose of reducing the impacts of poverty in the urban areas of our country, the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion have been coordinating the implementation of the new Juntos Urbano social program.
In this sense, as explained by the Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, Julio Demartini, in an interview with various media outlets, the expansion of the Juntos program will provide economic transfers to families in poverty, so that they can eat better and buy supplements when mothers are pregnant.
“At Juntos we have already expanded our incorporation of new users nationwide and we have broken the territorial barrier to go to urban areas. Now, we are working with the MEF on Juntos Urbano that goes hand in hand with Cuna Más for early childhood development. The Minister of Development and Social Inclusion, Julio Demartini, indicated that the social assistance initiative will follow up on the Early Childhood Transfer (TPI) strategy, which provides an additional amount of S/50 to pregnant and lactating mothers of the urban and peri-urban areas.
