Following the announcement last July, four third-generation hybrid RTG cranes have arrived at the Port of Guayaquil (TPG) terminal. It was announced from the terminal, noting that with this new equipment they are making progress in the process of modernizing the facilities.
According to TPG manager, Luisenrique Navas, the new cranes are environmentally friendly as they reduce fuel consumption by 70% and the emission of polluting gases. “The new equipment complies with international standards, has various certificates and is part of our commitment to the sustainability policy that we promote from our terminal,” added Navas.

The cranes, which will start operating in approximately 25 days, have state-of-the-art intelligent safety systems that enable risk-free activities, ensuring people’s safety. Likewise, they have sensors that allow greater visualization of real-time work data and translational movements that create confidence in the operator to perform their work in a more agile manner.
The terminal, which last July completed 17 years of operation since it began operations in 2006, has mobilized about 4.5 million containers and invested more than $163 million in the purchase of cranes, expansion of piers and support areas. ; logistic and procedural systems; infrastructure and technological equipment; the dredging of the mooring front, among other investments, was detailed by Navas.
