Indecopi: Swiss Chemistry recalls more than 40,000 Secret deodorants due to the presence of benzene

The Swiss Chemical company decided to withdraw from the market more than 40,000 units of Secret brand antiperspirants due to the presence of benzene molecules, reported the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi).

The brand’s products that will be discontinued are Secret Aerosol Powder Fresh 6oz, Secret Spray Light Essentials 3.8oz, Secret Spray Water Lily 3.8oz, and Secret Spray Lavender 3.8oz.

According to Swiss Chemistry, the presence of benzene It comes from the propellant that propel products out of cans into aerosols. For this reason, the company will carry out the voluntary withdrawal of products found in supermarkets, stores, warehouses, supply markets, pharmacy chains, drugstores, among others.

It will also collect the products of its different sales and distribution channels. In the event that they have been purchased, the product will be collected at the customer’s address and the corresponding disbursement will be made.
