Seferino Yesquén submitted his irrevocable resignation to the presidency of Perupetro, a position he had held since 2018, as confirmed by the entity through a statement.
“Perupetro thanks Eng. Seferino Yesquén León for his outstanding efforts to promote the development of the country’s hydrocarbon sector, in his capacity as Chairman of the Board, a position he assumed on May 16, 2018.” said the institution.
He explained that Yesquén had submitted his resignation on August 26, but remained in office due to the need to meet commitments that the sector required. And so, finally, on December 2, he made his irrevocable resignation “due to strictly personal reasons.”
Until the appointment of the new Chairman of the Board, it will be José Luis Balta Chirinos who will exercise said functions within the framework of what is established in the statute.
Balta Chirinos is vice president of Perupetro and a member of the board of directors representing the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem).
