The Minister of Production, Jorge Prado Palomino, announced in Trujillo the acquisition by the State of 5 million pairs of footwear produced by micro and small leather and footwear companies in the El Porvenir district. This will serve to reactivate these production units that are in serious crisis due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are working with the Center for Productive Innovation and Technological Transfer (CITE) for Leather and Footwear, helping it with innovation, technology, development and, precisely, we have good news regarding the production of approximately 5 million pairs of footwear for schoolchildren. ”, Asserted Prado in an interview with La República.
He added that it is encouraging news because it will help reactivate companies in the sector that have had a stoppage as a result of the pandemic. “Through the Technological Institute of Production (ITP) and the CITE of Leather and Footwear, a campaign called ‘To school with a good foot’ is also being relaunched, and in this way we are looking for the economic reactivation that we hope to achieve so much” , he indicated.
The head of Production expressed his concern for some companies that did not receive the economic allocation of Reactiva 1 and Reactiva 2. “There have been some of these micro, medium and small companies that have not been able to receive these benefits from the State, but through the Ministry of Production what we are looking for is the formalization of them so that, based on this formalization, we can support them so that they continue with their development ”, explained Jorge Prado.
Regarding the request for the presidential vacancy, the minister said that this is already in the hands of the Judiciary. “What I see clearly is that we have to think more about the country, we have to unite, we have to stop thinking about some of our own, personal and partisan interests; We have to focus on our beloved Peru and seek its development and well-being ”, he said.
