An alleged television interview conducted with the Minister of Economy of Ecuador is being used framed as if it is a news story published on the EL UNIVERSO website, but in reality it is a misrepresentation of our site in an attempt to confuse people into falling into some kind of fraud
Currently, many scams circulate either through email or through social networks, so the user should be careful and analyze where the information is coming from before clicking to avoid falling for a scam that could be data theft.
In the case of this fake news detailing an interview with the Minister of Economy, it is necessary to review the URL (link to the news) acronym for Uniform Resource Locator, as the web address is commonly known.
Last May, a picture of journalist and former head of Ecuavisa, Alfonso Espinosa de los Monteros, was used to promote an alleged investment that circulated on social networks. On that occasion, the now-retired professional explained that his image of more than 50 years of work on television was being used falsely.
“Unscrupulous people are taking my name and my image to promote supposed investments through social networks. I have nothing to do with these platforms and I do not engage in any commercial or advertising promotion,” he said on the night of Monday, May 3, in the main show of Televistaza. Espinosa de los Monteros withdrew from the cameras at the beginning of May.
In recent months, the EL UNIVERSO logo has also been used to advertise alleged job advertisements that are not real.
