Grilled Chicken Day: how much will sales rise this Sunday?

This July 16th is celebrated the Grilled Chicken Day, the date with the greatest demand for the poultry industry. For this reason, many businessmen are expecting to increase the sale of the Peruvian dish, which is accompanied by French fries.

According to the Don Rancherito chicken shop, the trade projections are 300 chickens for this Sunday. This would represent an increase of close to 50% compared to last year’s sales.which reached 120 chickens.

“It has been a challenging year due to the rise in prices of the main inputs, such as potatoes and chicken, due to the political and social situation. We decided to apply marketing strategies and cost reduction, without sacrificing quality, which has allowed us not to affect the main KPIs of the business,” they told La República from the premises.

Along these lines, the Pio’s Chicken store expects orders to reach 60% of what was registered on this same date in the pre-pandemic (2019), when up to 1,000 chickens were sold.

Among the main factors that have affected the performance of grilled chicken is the strong inflation registered in recent months and the rise in the main inputs that accompany the famous dish.

It should be noted that, according to the Peruvian Poultry Association (APA), there are more than 13,000 grilled chicken restaurants nationwide. In addition, around 150 million chickens are destined for poultry houses, which represents 20% of annual production in the poultry sector.
