Petroperu has denounced that, last Friday, July 14, third parties drilled a pipeline located at km 323+744 of Section II of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP)which would represent the sixth attack on the ONP so far in 2023.
After the incident, the oil company activated the contingency plan, for which reason specialized personnel with the necessary equipment and implements were dispatched, who are in the area awaiting coordination with local authorities and leaders.
However, the state company warned that since July 10 the movement of its personnel has been prevented and the development of activities has been limited. They also indicate that on July 12, a group of people entered the booth where the automated valve is located at km 318 of the ONP and attacked the equipment of this Pipeline infrastructure.
This despite the fact that, previously, the leaders of the Santa Rosa community promised to maintain social peace in the area and respect the rights of Petroperú personnel and contractors.
Petroperú, finally, ratifies publicly and through letters, that it has a commitment to carry out joint work with the District Municipality through Inter-institutional Agreements to be able to meet community requirements with aquaculture activities and solidarity actions related to health.
