It turns out that you can receive additional money to your pension thanks to the Mining Bond 2023, which will begin to be paid from this week and which will benefit more than 29,000 retirees, according to the Pension Standardization Office (ONP). Mining Bonus 2023: who will receive this subsidy?
According to the information contained on the ONP website, this economic benefit, which amounts to S/219.9 million, will be received by pensioners under Law No. 25009 (National Pension System) and Law No. 27252 (Private Pension System). Likewise, it must be distributed among 29,389 retirees, of which 26,355 belong to the SNP and 3,484 to the SPP, according to the information
In addition to the aforementioned citizens, the subsidy will be granted to the beneficiaries of the widow’s and orphan’s pensions that derive from a retirement pension related to the mining, metallurgical and steel regimes.
In the case of pensioners with disabilities, the economic benefit will be granted as long as the contributions have been made within the framework of work related to mining, metallurgical or steel activities included in Law No. 25009 and Law No. 27252.

When will the 2023 Mining Bond be paid?
According to the web portal of the Pension Standardization Office, Starting this Friday, July 14, the annual payment of the Mining Bonus will begin for ONP and AFP mining retirement pensioners. Let us remember that said fund is constituted with 0.5% of the gross monthly remuneration of mining, metallurgical and steel workers, and with 0.5% of the annual income before taxes of the companies related to these activities.
It is worth mentioning that other resources of the Mining, Metallurgical and Steel Complementary Retirement Fund are donations, the return on their investments, interest and fines that occur after failing to comply with contributions and other income provided by law.
What is the form of payment of the 2023 Mining Bond?
Pensioners affiliated with the ONP will receive this additional payment in the account where they receive their monthly pensions, while AFP pensioners will receive it in the same account where they were deposited in 2022.
In the case of new beneficiaries or those who lost their card or forgot their password, they should go to the Banco de la Nación that is closest to their home so that they can obtain a new account and make the withdrawal.
