Conmebol and UEFA jointly created a cup that will be disputed between the champions of Copa Sudamericana it’s yes Europa League. The first edition will take place on July 19 between Sevilla and Independiente del Valle, the winners of the 2022-23 editions, at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán, in Seville, Spain. The match is scheduled for 17:00 (Brasília time).

The tournament will be called UEFA CONMEBOL Club Challenge and will be played in a single match between the two participants. In case of a tie, the dispute will go directly to penalties.
The referee for the game will be appointed by the European entity and the winners will receive, according to a statement from Conmebol, medals and a plaque “specially designed for the occasion”.
The inaugural edition will be named Antonio Puerta XII in honor of the Sevilla player who died at the age of 22 from a heart attack in 2007.
The creation of the tournament is yet another initiative of the cooperation partnership between Conmebol and UEFA, which has already resulted in the creation of the Finalissima, which is played between the winning teams of the Copa América and the Eurocopa. This tournament takes place in both men and women.
