Without specifying additional details, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Pablo Arosemena, announced that the Government is preparing legal regulation “for the protection of public finances”. The announcement was made on the afternoon of Tuesday, July 4, following a forum held at the University of the Americas (UDLA), in Quito, on the exploitation of crude oil in block 43-ITT.

“We have a legal decree that we will send in the next few days to protect public finances. It was prepared by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, and it is about the protection of public finances. not to get their claws into public finances and that we have an even more orderly management, regardless of whether we are there or not. It seems that the fiscal order is a public good, it is not only a good thing that the Government did it, it should be continued, and certain guidelines are left or at least it will be a proposal in that legal decree”, summarized Arosemena, without going into the aspects that the norm will deal with.

The official addressed this issue when asked about the new decrees that President Guillermo Lasso will present.

In this regard, he said that the other rules that the head of state will submit to the Constitutional Court (US) concern Stock market, operated by the Ministry of Finance; he El Niño phenomenon, prepared by the Ministry of Production; and the other in tax field.
