The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) guaranteed a good progress of the works of massification of natural gas with the resources of the Plan Con Punche Peru, which includes the construction of 47 kilometers of new networks for Lima and Callao.
Minister Oscar Vera Gargurevich inaugurated this morning the first natural gas connections in AA.HH. Las Lomas de Ventanilla, a district in which 11 kilometers of pipelines have been developed with the goal of reaching 1,321 homes.
In joint work with the Cálidda company, Minem has managed to provide natural gas to 610 families in Ventanilla, where the advance of massification today reaches 46.17%.
“As a government, we want natural gas to reach more and more Peruvians, so that they benefit from this resource that offers savings of 40% compared to LPG and 70% in relation to electricity. That savings benefits each home and paves the way to lower energy costs for domestic use, for mypes, small businesses, transportation, among others,” said the minister.
Minem develops massification projects in the Lima districts of Ventanilla, Carabayllo, Pachacamac and Cieneguilla, as well as San Vicente de Cañete and Imperial, in Cañete. At this time, 47.1 kilometers of external network have been built, 13.5% progress with 2,152 new users.
Similar works will soon be carried out in Callao and in the districts of Lurigancho Chosica, Ancón, San Juan de Lurigancho, Comas, Puente Piedra, La Victoria and Lurín. In parallel, the massification of natural gas will reach various regions in the north, center and south of the country.
