In the month of July, many workers receive extra money as part of their labor rights. Some call it gratuity and others aguinaldo; however, these are different. In the private sector, all people who work under Law 278 receive a bonus depending on how the company is registered. Who receives a bonus?
The Christmas bonus is received by public sector workers who are under the labor regime of Legislative Decree 276, Law 29944 and Law 30512. In addition, university teachers included in Law 30220, health personnel included in Legislative Decree 1153 , members of the Armed Forces and National Police. Finally, the pensioners included in Law 15117, Decree Laws 19846 and 20530, Supreme Decree 051-88-PCM and Law 28091.
How much is the bonus?
In the Public Sector Budget Law for fiscal year 2023, article 7 indicates that this remuneration will be S/300 this year, the same figure as the previous year.
How long can they pay the bonus?
Like the bonus, the payment deadline is July 15. This year the date falls on a Saturday, so it can be paid before. According to the law, this bonus cannot be paid the day after the indicated date.
