The promoter found a replacement for Fury to fight Usyk at the tournament in Saudi Arabia

Hearn says Usyk will fight Hrgovic in Saudi Arabia if Fury refuses

Promoter Eddie Hearn has revealed which boxer can replace British Tyson Fury in a duel against Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk at the Super Tournament in Saudi Arabia. The words of the specialist are quoted by Ring Polska.

“If Fury refuses to fight Usyk, Alexander will fight his IBF mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic on the same boxing night,” Hearn said. He also noted that the bout between Briton Anthony Joshua and American Deontay Wilder will take place anyway.

On June 28, it became known that Fury refused to fight Usyk at a tournament in Saudi Arabia in December 2023. “Negotiations are ongoing, but fairly reliable sources say that there will be no duel with Usyk this year,” talkSPORT correspondent Michael Benson said, referring to the words of businessman Simon Jordan.

Fury has 33 wins, one draw and no losses in his career. He owns the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship belt.

Usyk has 20 wins in 20 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Organization (IBO), IBF and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts. Horvat Hrgovic won 15 victories in his career and did not suffer a single defeat.
