The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) installed the Puinahua District Development Fund Initial Committee – Lot 95, in the district of Puinahua, province of Requena (Loreto). The purpose of this is to form the final management board of the fund, that will collect the contributions equivalent to 2.5% of the value of the controlled oil production generated by the Petrotal company in Block 95.
The resources collected will be used to finance basic and productive infrastructure development projects for the benefit of 18 towns in the Puinahua district.
It should be noted that the inclusion of this fund in the license contract for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in Block 95 was carried out through an addendum, a model that will expedite development projects and interventions in this oil-producing area.
The committee will be composedor by three representatives of Aidecobap, JAP, the District Municipality of Puinahua and Perupetro, respectively. Likewise, the Regional Government of Loreto, Minem and the secretariat will participate in the committee meetings providing assistance and technical support.
The regional governor of Loreto, Jorge Chávez; the mayor of the District Municipality of Puinahua, Giordano Mendoza; the president of the Indigenous Association for Development and Conservation of Bajo Puinahua (Aidecobap), James Pérez; and the representative of the Puinahua Authorities Board (JAP), Azael Arbildo. Also present were representatives of the Social Management and Dialogue Secretariat of the PCM, the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), the Ombudsman’s Office and Perupetro.
