BCRP: Diego Macera, Marylin Choy and Carlos Oliva are sworn in as directors before the Judiciary

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported that Diego Macera Poli, Marylin Choy Chong and Carlos Oliva Neyra were sworn in as directors of the issuing entity before the president of the Judiciary, Elvia Barrios, in a ceremony held at the Palace of Justice.

As it is recalled, the three economists were appointed by the Congress of the Republic by majority vote on November 18. With this, the outstanding shortlist is ready to take the place of Rey, Chlimper and Cuba.

In detail, Diego Macera is an economist from the Universidad del Pacífico. He has a master’s degree in Public Policy from the University of Chicago (USA) and is currently the manager of the Peruvian Institute of Economics (IPE) since 2016.

For her part, Marylin Choy studied Economics at the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos (1980) and has a Master’s degree in Economics at Rice University (1982). He joined the BCRP in 1977 after successfully completing the XXIV University Extension Course. He has been central manager of Operations and manager of Credit and Financial Regulation, among other positions in the institution, where he also held the General Management on an interim basis.

Meanwhile, Carlos Oliva is an economist from the Universidad del Pacífico and a Master’s in Economics from Georgetown University (USA). He has been Minister of Economy and Finance between 2018 and 2019, Vice Minister of Finance, Director of the BCRP and, currently, he is President of the Fiscal Council, reported the BCRP.
