Expectations are high for the second edition of the Chokao Cocoa and Chocolate Fair, as it is expected to generate $3 million in transactions from the two business roundtables scheduled at this event organized by the National Association of Cocoa Exporters of Ecuador (Anecacao). held from July 18 to 20 at the Hilton Colón Hotel in Guayaquil.

A larger number of brands will also participate in this new edition. In the first edition, in 2022, there were 60, and this year more than 90 will be present. “At Chokao 2023, Ecuador reaffirms its position as the third largest producer and exporter of cocoa in the world and the epicenter of production,” Anecacao points out.

This event, according to the organizers, “is an opportunity for producers, suppliers, investors, clients, entrepreneurs and all actors involved in the cocoa production chain in the country”. In addition, “the fair presents itself as an excellent opportunity to establish contacts, explore new collaborations and finalize commercial agreements,” the press release states.

In the three-day event, several segments related to the environment of the cacao tree will be held: fair, seminars and workshops, Ecuador origin of the cacao tree, cacao to the world, chocofest, business conference and gastronomic congress, in the last twelve domestic and international. chefs will participate.

The business conference will be held in person and on the line. The open will be held on July 18 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., while the virtual one will be held on July 19 and 20.

The gastronomic congress will be held on July 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Among the speakers at the seminars and workshops will be: Alberto Nacer from Ecuador, VP Softs merchandise at StoneX; Édgar Andrés Chang, General Manager of Aphrodisiac; Jenny Samaniego, founder of Conexión Chocolate; Jorge Marún, general manager of Hacienda San José; Canadian Brigitte Laliberté, director of the Cocoa of Excellence program; among others.
