Price of the dollar reaches its highest level of the year and closes at S / 3.9750

The dollar price it closed higher again and reached S/ 3.9750 on Thursday, September 29, its highest level in 2022, close to the highest levels it registered at the beginning of this year when it climbed to a maximum of S / 3.9670 on Thursday, January 6, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

In today’s exchange session the greenback completed more than a week on the rise and appreciated 0.56% compared to the day before’s close when it reached S/ 3.9530.

At 2:15 pm the US currency in the parallel market it was quoted at S/ 3.94 for purchase and S/ 3.98 for sale. While in the banking market was bought for S/ 3,8900 and sold for S/ 4,070 at the windows of the Credit Bank of Peru (BCP).

The BCRP intervened placing Exchange Swap Sale (fixed rate) for S/ 40 million at 9 months, at an average rate of 4.06%, Exchange Swap Sale (fixed rate) for S/ 200 million at 3 months, at an average rate of 3 .22% and Foreign Exchange Swap Sale (fixed rate) for S/ 300 million at 9 months, at an average rate of 3.94%. In addition, it sold US$ 10 million at an average exchange rate of S/ 3.9870.

The strength of dollar globally it occurs after the US Federal Reserve. announced that it will continue to increase its reference interest rate as a measure to curb inflation.

Today also the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BEA) of the United States confirmed that the country’s economy fell by 0.1% in the second quarter of the year and fell at an annual rate of 0.6%, confirming that it entered a recession.
