Simplified imports from Ecuador, and which are managed by the Customs Intendancy of Tumbesincreased by 178% between January and August of this year, compared to a similar period in 2021, thus reaching US$ 230,000, reported the National Superintendence of Customs and Tax Administration (Sunath).
The Customs and Tax Administration indicated that the main products imported from the neighboring country to the north are: sweatersponchos, handmade pants, powdered pepper, polymers, hydrobiological products, parts and spare parts for harvesting machines, among others.
Likewise, the import regime for consumption had a growth of 41% of the CIF value with $231 million. The main products that were imported under this regime are: balanced feed for shrimp, chipboard for melamine furniture, beauty items and sweets.
The Sunat He highlighted that the increase in simplified imports responds to a process of formalization of importing merchants, which is reflected in the decrease in seizures of said products in the jurisdiction of Tumbes.
Meanwhile, from January to August 2022, the export regime definitively, it registered a growth of 80% in Tumbes, compared to a similar period in 2021, with US$ 520 million, which highlights the result of the economic reactivation process in the region.
The main products that were exported through this border are: balanced food, cleaning products, fish flouramong others.
