Finance transferred $12.3 million to the BDE for 79 credit operations to GAD and public companies

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) announced that it has made a transfer of $12.3 million to the Development Bank of Ecuador (BDE) to finance development projects Decentralized autonomous governments (GAD).

With this delivery of resources to 79 financial operations will benefit regional governments both provincial, municipal and parochial and also some municipal public companies.

In the field of municipal governments, are among the beneficiaries:

Oña, Pasaje, Tulcán, Joya de los Sachas, Urdaneta, Chunchi, Calvas, Espíndola, Montecristi, Olmedo, Mejía, Pedro Moncayo, Cuenca, La Troncal, La Libertad. Also, Saraguro, Quinsaloma, Loja, Loreto, Riobamba, Chone, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Palora, Santa Elena, Portovelo, Yantzaza, Cascales and Ibarra.

Additionally, the municipal GADs of Otavalo, Francisco de Orellana, and Tulcán are also beneficiaries.

Between the provincial governments appear as beneficiaries:

Carchi, Santa Elena, Zamora Chinchipe, Cañar, Los Ríos, Manabí, El Oro, Orellana, Loja, Napo and Azuay.

Among the parishes:

Sarayaku, San José del Tambo, Wakembeis, Guaraing, Cruzpamba, Chantaco, Amarillos, Maximiliano Rodríguez, Praído de Celén, Camposano and La Belleza.

Credit resources were also given to the municipal company by Pedro Carbon.

In this way, the MEF is also advancing in its strategy of lowering historical arrears, since the amount transferred $9.7 million correspond to the Fingad agreements, that have been pending payment since 2017. The Fingad agreements were signed between the MEF and the BDE to make possible the payment of amounts owed to the GADs, through the presentation of a local benefit investment project.

The Ministry recalled that last July it also carried out a similar operation in which it transferred other $14.4 million to the same financial entity for the purpose of continuing financing of GAD investment programs. This advance is part of components B and C of the Reactivation Economic Plan, because the arrears will be lowered and it will promote the construction of works in the territory, said the Ministry.
