Price of the dollar closes higher and reaches S / 3.95 this Tuesday, September 27

The dollar price closed the day on Tuesday, September 27, and reached S/ 3.9500, this is the highest level since Wednesday, July 13, when it reached S/ 3.9550. In today’s operations greenback appreciated 0.23% compared to Monday’s close when it reached S/ 3.9410, according to the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

At 1.50 in the parallel market the US currency was trading at S/ 3.9300 for purchase and S/ 3.9600 for sale. Meanwhile, in the banking market was bought at S/ 3,869 and sold at S/ 4,049 at the windows of the Credit Bank of Peru (BCP).

Today’s session began with the opening of the market at S/ 3.9300, the demand came from the offshore market. The central bank intervened with a direct sale of US$ 1 million and placing Foreign Exchange Swap Sale for S/ 870 million at 9 months with an average rate of 3.80%, according to Gianina Villavicencio, manager of Foreign Exchange Brokerage in Rent 4 SAB Peru.

US$ 268 million were traded on the market at an average price of 3.9470

“Globally, the dollar continues to gain positions given that the FED indicated that the rise in interest rates could remain at high levels until next year; the euro has been showing a downward trend in the face of permanent concerns related to inflation and the energy crisis”, commented Villavicencio.
