Unemployment in Ecuador was 3.2 percent in May, which is a lower percentage than in the last two years. In May 2021, it was 6.3%, and in May 2022, it was 3.7%.

From the data for the first quarter of 2023, it can be seen which cities had better working conditions. For example, in Cuenca adequate employment is 59%, followed by Quito with 58.1%. Then there is Guayaquil with 47.3% and Ambato with 43.5% and Machala with 43.2%.
