Four remedies for ingrown toenails. In 15 minutes they will solve a painful problem and bring relief

Ingrown toenails are a painful problem faced by many people. If appropriate measures are not taken, inflammation may occur and require medical attention. Fortunately, this can be avoided by using home remedies.

Ingrowing is a condition in which the side edges of the nail plate begin to dig into the skin. This often causes great pain and can cause inflammation, which we cannot deal with on our own and you will need to seek the help of a doctor. There are many causes of ingrown toenails, but some of them are under our control and we can eliminate them to reduce the risk of problems.

What causes ingrown nails? There are many of them

There are a lot of ingrown nails. The most common of them are wearing too tight shoes, improperly trimming nails and cutting their edges, fungal infections, injuries, and even genetic predisposition. At the initial stage of nail digging into the skin, you can react with home remedies, but it is important to react quickly. Remember, however, that tricks performed at home will not solve every problem and it is still worth going to a specialist for advice. This should definitely be done if an infection develops.

What to do for ingrown nails? Tiktoker gave 3 tips

A video appeared on TikTok @podologmaster some time ago, showing 3 steps to help fight the pain of ingrown nails.

  1. Do not cut the nail deep. Round the corners. The nail should not be long, so it should be shortened as much as possible, but the sides should remain slightly rounded. Leaving the “horns” on the sides will irritate the wound and increase pain.
  2. Do not cover the nail with a plaster. Use iodine-based preparations that will calm down inflammation.
  3. Try putting a piece of gauze under the corners of the nail to gently lift it. Thanks to this, it will not come into contact with inflammation, which will bring relief.

In addition, you can also soak your feet in water with the addition of iodine-bromine salt, which will soften the skin around the nail. This type of salt has a healing effect – it has anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory effects. Another trick is foot baths in gray soap with antibacterial properties. Wetting your feet should be repeated twice a day, and each of them should last about 15 minutes.
